Valentine’s Mystery Dinner Theatre-Grand Hotel Point Clear, Alabama

Every year, the Point Clear Marriot Grand Hotel, located on beautiful Mobile Bay, features a Valentine’s Mystery Dinner Theater. And Marty and I love to grab our husbands and go! One reason is just a chance to dress up. Another is to be welcomed by the magnificent old oak trees as we drive through the gates and walk along the curved paths into the hotel. Throughout the history of such a wonderful space. It was also Mardi Gras night. And many guests were present in the hotel wearing their sequence dresses and suits and having drinks. The two large fireplaces in the main lobby area were lit, and the atmosphere was warm and festive. We arrived at the Ballrooms to find an array of people—some with friends and others on a quiet date. The Magnolia Ballroom was decorated for a lovely evening, and we couldn’t wait to see who would sit at the table with us.

Since we usually arrive quite early, we choose our seats and wait for our mystery guests. Our unknown collaborative puzzle solvers. The ones whom we will spend the evening with and try to crack the case. This evening, we were blessed to have such wonderful people at our table. We love to meet new people in our area. Learn about them and share conversations. At past dinners, we have often made lasting connections through our blog. For example, the Cat’s Meow in Fairhope, Al. This evening, along with our mystery act, we enjoyed a First course of French bean and fennel salad followed by a Main course of Beef tenderloin with lobster risotto.

For dessert, we enjoyed the delightful strawberry rose cheesecake. Almost too pretty to eat. But we ate it anyway. And no, we did not figure out who did it at our mystery dinner theater. But we all worked together and gave it our best go. At least we did not win as being the worst table. And we will return next year for a retry.
