Uptown Café-Branson, Missouri

On our recent trip to Branson, Missouri, we found Uptown Cafe-a cool place with an upbeat atmosphere, and it’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Even better is that this restaurant is family-owned and operated and honors one of our fallen heroes. Jack D. Goode made the ultimate sacrifice and laid down his life for our country. According to their website, during a conflict in the Vietnam War, Jack and his comrades came under heavy fire. In the process, Jack was wounded badly and did not survive, but he helped save many lives of his fellow soldiers that day. Prior to his death, Jack was a singer and songwriter. To honor his memory, David Goode named the Uptown Café after his brother. It makes me feel good to support local businesses and even better when I learn how these places got started.

Uptown Cafe

I really enjoyed eating in this diner-style restaurant. I had traditional diner food: bacon, lettuce, and tomato hamburger with a side of fries. My daughter and other table mates had a grilled cheese sandwich. The fried pickles are scrumptious!
