The Sunflower Café -Fairhope, Alabama

If you are looking for a healthy dining experience in a casual, charming, and friendly environment, look no further than The Sunflower Café in Fairhope, Alabama. The Cafe sources its ingredients from certified organic, sustainable, and ethical farms. And their meat options are always free of GMOs, hormones, preservatives, and other harmful additives. They also specialize in catering to those with dietary restrictions, including gluten-free, lactose-free, vegan, and vegetarian.

We asked our waitress to bring us some of their most popular dishes and see what we found. For an appetizer, we tried the Pita Trio. Freshly made hummus, baba ghanoush, and tabouli served with grilled pita triangles. Then we both enjoyed the turkey avocado melt. A hot sandwich with a choice of free-range turkey or tofurkey, pesto aioli, tomatoes, sprouts, avocado, and Swiss cheese on freshly baked bread. Afterward, we finished our meal off with a sweet treat made here in the USA and from natural ingredients. Try Virgil’s handcrafted Black Cherry and their Orange Cream soda. The Sunflower Café has many options for a healthy diet, from Dolphin-friendly yellowfin tuna sandwiches to Thai and Greek Veggie Wraps to salads, Pizza, and Black Bean dip.
