Take a Relaxing Bath

If you want the stress of the day just to float away, taking a bath is a great way to destress your body and your mind from whatever environmental or personal stressors are affecting you. It is commonly believed that taking a warm bath can reduce stress and promote healing. Balneotherapy, a treatment method that involves mineral baths, is known to aid in the treatment of certain diseases. Studies suggest that balneotherapy can be effective in improving certain skin conditions and reducing arthritis symptoms. Even if you do not suffer from a serious medical condition, taking a bath can help you relax and clear your mind. By creating a tranquil environment and setting the intention to slow down and enjoy the experience, bathing can be a therapeutic activity.

In order to maximize your bathing time and truly mindfully enjoy it, we recommend these tips for a relaxing bath.

  1. It’s important to make time and find a quiet space to be alone. It’s recommended to have at least 15 minutes of uninterrupted time for yourself.
  2. For a more calming atmosphere, you can add ambiance to your bathroom by dimming the lights. You may also light a candle and use an essential oil diffuser with your preferred calming scent. Additionally, incorporating some greenery can help fill the space.
  3. If you enjoy having some background noise, you can select some calming music to play.
  4. When taking a luxurious bath, one essential item I prefer to have is a beverage. If you prefer water, choose a fancy glass to enhance your experience. Alternatively, if you want to create a spa-like ambiance, a glass of wine can be a nice addition.
  5. To make your bath extra special, consider adding Epsom salt, a bubble bath, flowers, or even fresh fruit to the water.
  6. Prepare a tray or stool with all the items you’ll need for your bath beforehand. This will help reduce stress during your bath, as you won’t have to get out to retrieve any necessary items. Gather everything you need in advance to make your bath experience more enjoyable.
  7. For a more enjoyable bath experience, it’s best to leave your phone in another room to avoid mindlessly scrolling and not fully relaxing.
  8. Take a moment to calm your mind. If you feel anxious or overwhelmed, try to stop and take a few deep breaths. Alternatively, you can say to yourself out loud, “I am present in this moment.”
  9. Before entering your bath, set the intention to make it a restful and relaxing experience. This will definitely improve your overall experience.
  10. Once you finish your bath, take some quiet time to relax or head straight to bed feeling fully relaxed.
