Peach Park – Clanton, Alabama

On our recent summer vacation, we visited Indianapolis, Indiana, and on our way back home, we could not resist stopping in Clanton, Alabama, for the most delicious peaches we could find. It had been a very long time since I had stopped in Clanton, it was a last-minute decision, but I always remember my grandmother getting hers from there. We found our exit off Interstate 65; there is more than one exit for Clanton. From one of them, you can even see the big peach tower, so you know you are in the right town.

There is more than one fruit stand around, some are big, and some are small. The one we visited was called Peach Park, and it is located at 2300 7th St S Clanton, Alabama. It is there that we found some of the best homemade ice cream, fried pies, and cobbler around! We had to try the peach ice cream while my daughter ordered cookie dough.

There are many fun items to look at while you visit; I picked up a peach park cup, the peach color, of course. They even serve lunch on the deck overlooking the gardens, and the kids can play on the playground. There is an antique tractor and a small walking trail.

A storm was coming when we were there, so we made our way back to the car with a sweet taste in our mouths and a basket of peaches in our hands. These were welcome with smiling faces from our family members when we arrived home. I must say they did not last long. For more, Keeping It Local and travel articles, you can visit us on our blog.
