Mount Rushmore and More

On our trip to Mount Rushmore, we flew into Rapid City, SD, rented a car, and drove to Hill City, SD. One of our favorite restaurants in Hill City is Bumpin Buffalo Bar & Grill.

No trip to South Dakota is complete without a visit to Mount Rushmore National Memorial Park. There are several trails and a museum in the park.

We then drove up the US-16 Scenic Highway in Keystone to the Norbeck Overlook Black Hills National Forest. You can stop a take in more views of Mt. Rushmore along the way.

Another drive we took was through Custer State Park, with many buffalo and antelope.

We ended the trip with a stop at Sylvan Lake, Custer State Park.

But one of the most amazing drives is Needles Highway through Needles Highway Tunnel.

We also visited the Crazy Horse Memorial. Next time we visit this park, we will plan ahead and schedule a tour up to the top of the monument.

The next day, we made a road trip to Devil’s Tower National Park, WY, and Deadwood, SD.

Our final road trip was a drive through Badlands National Park.

This park also has many types of animals.

Another museum we enjoyed was the National Presidential Wax Museum.
