GT’s on the Bay

One of my favorite restaurants in Orange Beach, Alabama, is GT’s on the Bay. It sits overlooking Wolf Bay just off of Canal Road. It’s really a great place to hang out. It has a fabulous view, an inside and outside eating area, and a fun sandy beach with a pirate ship for the kids to pretend to be pirates.

My husband and I like to go for the scenery while we sit outside and watch our daughter play. You can have a nice glass of wine, Pina colada, or whatever makes you happy. They have a full bar with a variety of mixed drinks and craft beers. Water with a slice of lemon is great, too, on a hot day.

On the last visit, Marty and I were down at Orange Beach, and I recommended that we stop by for lunch. We looked over the menu, which offered a blend of local favorites, hearth pizza, and a nice cold salad bar. We both went straight for the steamed shrimp and crab combo. It offered a half-pound of shrimp and a half-pound of crab with boiled corn on the cob and steamed red-skinned potatoes. Yum! It was, shall I say, finger-licking good! We barely said a word the whole meal until it was all gone.

This is just a great place to visit. It also has a small fish-holding area where you can see what is swimming around and a gift shop with T-shirts and marine stuffies for the kids. GT is located at 26189 Canal Road in Orange Beach, Alabama. For more about travel, you can visit the Travel section of our blog.
