Garvan Woodland Garden -Hot Springs, Arkansas

If you love to walk through a garden, then we have a great recommendation for you—Garvan Woodland Gardens of the University of Arkansas, located in Hot Springs, Arkansas. If I am ever in Hot Springs again, I will revisit this place because it is one of the most beautiful gardens that I have been into. We did not have enough time to stay there because I could have stayed all day. I found it to be breathtaking. This botanical garden is nestled in the Ouachita Mountains of Southwest Arkansas, and it was given as a gift from local industrialist and philanthropist Verna Cook Garvan.

This garden is so beautiful because of its natural state. The canopy of pines reaches skyward with the flora and fauna underneath. Beautiful Lake Hamilton lies beside the gardens, naturally, and provides gently lapping waves that unfold along 4 ½ miles of wooded shoreline. The gardens have some rocky inclines that remind us of the mountains surrounding us. This is a place of serenity and calmness that you can only find in nature. The University of Arkansas’s mission is to develop and sustain gardens, landscapes, and structures of exceptional aesthetics, design, and construction; and to partner with and serve communities of which the Gardens is a part. Other than nature itself, inside the gardens, you will discover the most magnificent chapel made of wood and glass.

Your eyes will fill with awe as you walk through the structure and take in the beauty of nature through the vaulted glass ceiling. Anthony Chapel is the perfect place for weddings or other personal events. Garvan Woodland Gardens is located at 550 Arkridge Rd. in Hot Springs, AR, 71913.
