Agave Mexican Restaurant

If you are hungry for one of the best Mexican restaurants around, I highly recommend you visit Agave Cocina Mexicana. Located in Fairhope, AL., it is one of the most flavorful Mexican establishments you could choose. They go beyond tacos and burritos by creating unique dishes that you can not find just anywhere. They serve lunch and dinner daily and even provide curbside pickup. My absolute favorite item on the menu is the chunky avocado dip. This can not be found at other Mexican restaurants locally. They try to imitate, but they do not win my taste buds’ vote on this appetizer. Made fresh to order with ripe Haas avocados, jalapenos, cilantro, onions, fresh lime juice, and a unique blend of herbs and spices! Another wonderful dish is the shrimp cocktail.

It arrives in a huge margarita-sized drinking glass with a surprising number of shrimp smothered in tomato juices and lime. Fresh to the taste and delightful addition to any meal. It is delicious to enjoy with the chips that come with your meal. For an entrée, I ordered the enchilada supreme, which comes with One beef, one chicken, one cheese, and one bean enchilada—topped with enchilada sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream. Marty ordered the shrimp tacos. You can choose sautéed tilapia or shrimp, which comes with a chipotle-based Salsa Blanca, cabbage, pico de gallo, and fresh lime wedge—served with rice and beans. You can even choose to substitute grilled or fried shrimp for no additional charge.

And, if you are looking for a place to enjoy yourself and have a drink, the restaurant also boasts a modern and stylish tequila bar where they offer handcrafted signature margaritas and premium tequilas taking your drinking experience to another level. They have a collection of 100% Blue Agave tequilas, including Reposado, Anejo, and Blanco. They also offer a wide selection of Mexican and domestic beer and a wide variety of wines.
