7  Powerful Ways to Savour Your Life

The main goal of our blog is to talk about how to Savour one’s life. To truly enjoy what you have and revel in it. Below you will find a list of 7 powerful ways to Savour your life.

1. Savour the Joys of your achievements.

It is one thing to achieve a goal; it is another to enjoy it after you have achieved it. Think about this quote, “There are two things to aim at in life:  first, to get what you want; and after that, to enjoy it.  Only the wisest of mankind achieve the second.” ~ Logan Pearsall Smith

Now think about this example.  It goes like this……you marry a woman of your dreams, but get bored with her soon thereafter and start looking for a new one. This is one of the most common causes of marital discords and breaks up (Purposefairy.com). So, in this example, the goal was achieved but then there was no gratitude or appreciation for the goal being obtained. The wife was taken for granted and the marriage ended in unhappiness. Instead of enjoying what one had, they did not appreciate it, which leads to this quote, “If you realize that you have enough, you are truly rich.” ~ Lao Tzu

2.  Savour a child-like and playful spirit.

Think like a child. Children often forget their quarrels with their friends and family. They quickly start playing again, always happy and smiling. Learn how to forget and forgive.

3. Savour the present moment.

There will never be a time when it is not now, so we can only be happy in the now (Gerald Jampolsky). Postponing your happiness to an unsure future is like saying I will only be happy when something happens the way I want it. Try instead to postpone your sorrow to some future moment. The time to be happy is today because yesterday has already passed and you cannot be sure that tomorrow will bring any happiness (Purposefairy.com)

4. Be the ruler of your Kingdom of Happiness.

You should decide which situations will make you happy or sad, not other people or circumstances. Learn to let go of those who do not wish to be attached to us. If they can live without you then you can live without them.

5.  Wake up with the intention of staying happy all day.

No matter what difficult situation arises, find things that help you remain calm and happy.

Seek out happy situations and environments. A garden, the beach, a good friend’s company, or a good book on optimism.

6. Savour your body as your temple.

Keep the temple of your body clean of negative thoughts, toxic substances, and damaging relationships.  It is really difficult to remain happy when you are sick physically or mentally.

7.  Focus on changing yourself instead of changing the world around you.

It is impossible to change the world around you. So do not be upset when people fail to meet your expectations. Instead, change your thoughts and adjust to the people or situations you do not like.“Never underestimate your power to change yourself; never overestimate your power to change others.” ~ Wayne Dyer
